SUYU rug · Dusty Pink
The SUYU rug (4 x 5 ft) is composed of four panels. The width of the panels reflect the parameters imposed by the physical body of the weaver; in back strap weaving, the textile never reaches outside of this set size boundary - one can only weave what the arms can access. To create this larger than body rug, the four panels are joined by a traditional Andean embroidery stitch.
